What is an electric bike?
An electric bike or 'e-Bike' is a bicycle that has an electric hub motor as part of its drive-train. These motors are either mounted to the front or rear wheel and powered by robust batteries that can carry most riders at speeds up to 32 km/h, for a distance of 22 km*.
*Range is dependent on the amount of pedaling provided by the rider, as well as the amperage of the battery being used
Why do I need to electrify my ride?
If you're like me and want to commute to work on a regular basis but don't want to arrive tired and sweaty then converting your existing bike to a hybrid bike or 'e-bike' is the answer. Alternatively, many riders purchase these types of kits if they are physically unable to ride a 'standard' bike but still enjoy getting out and about. So whether you're an avid city commuter or a golden oldie looking to regain that childhood experience, we have the solutions for you!
And did I mention that I want my bike to look cool?
